Restoration of sites of historical and cultural significance and preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Belitsa and Makedonska Kamenica

Activities under the project
The project aimed to еenhancing the tourism potential of the region through cooperation initiatives in better preservation and sustainable utilization of natural and cultural heritage through activities for restoration of sites of historical and cultural significance and preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Belitsa and Makedonska Kamenica. Project interventions ensured enhancing the tourism potential of the region through sustainable use of cultural heritage.
The project’s purpose was achieved through implementation of the following activities:

- Equipment for Cultural Information Centre "Romansa";
- Repair of the building of Community Centre in Belitsa;
- Information and publicity;
- Official openings.

Project Result
Outputs of project realization ensured equipment for Cultural Information Centre “Romansa” and repaired building of Community Centre “Georgi Todorov-1885” in Belitsa. The building of Cultural Information Centre “Romansa” in Makedonska Kamenica was equipped with specialized equipment for movies projection enabling presentation of cultural heritage of the Makedonska Kamenica, such as a cinema projector, a  nano air-screen, a cinema projector screen, wide screen smart TV for presentation of movies and information about sites of cultural and historical significance, personal computers for preparation of informational materials about sites and their use in the library by visitors, and  laptops for mobile manifestations and regular presentations of sites of cultural and historical significance. From the other side of the border, the old and beautiful 2-storeyed building of Community Centre “Georgi Todorov – 1885” in Belitsa was repaired ready for organization of the events of the cultural calendar of Municipality of Belitsa, and thus for tourists to enjoy the intangible cultural heritage of the region. The reparation included laying of new integrated system heat insulation with plaster, change of the joinery, repair of the roof, new drainage system, complete clean, renew and preservation of facade decorations and change of the seats in the hall.
