Think Composting - dedication to the organic full circle

The aim of the project was to raise public awareness of environmental protection and natural resources, by processing organic waste into organic fertilizer/compost in the cross-border region. During the project implementation an advertising video was created, demonstrating the concept of composting (by using composting containers and their benefits for households). The raw video was used to make a short TV announcement, which aroused the interest of the interested households to receive and use the composting containers, delivered under the project. A brochure was prepared and distributed to each citizen, who received a composting container, and to those present at the project events. During the information campaign, the composters were provided to the project participants and training was provided on their use. Municipalities from both regions were involved in the idea and became part of the training, receiving information about the benefits of composting and separate waste collection from citizens. The Studies, prepared under the project, provided information on the possibilities for composting in the cross-border region.
The project showed that the environmental protection is one of the main priorities of the region and the use of organic waste in a way that not only reduces pollution, but improves the quality of life through the production of organic compost. Raising public awareness and setting an example for the citizens of the region, is the main benefit of the project.
