Project summary:

The project overall objective is to improve the accessibility to natural heritage through common activities for development of tourism and touristic activities in both municipalities and increase the tourist potentials in the covered cross-border region. Furthermore, it will provide common touristic offer of the St. Joakim Osogovski Monastery in Kriva Palanka and the Clock Tower in Dupnitsa. This approach tries to emphasis the cohesion of the whole cross-border region's monuments as unique variation and high attractiveness for tourist visit. Project will contribute establishing conditions for cultural exchange among people, building bridges among interest and mutual potentials for future cooperation and sustainable development of competitive tourist attraction trough joint activities. additionally, the promotion of the cultural heritage in Dupnitsa and Kriva Palanka will be done through modern technologies. There will be created a platform, where the visitors and tourist could find information about the cultural monuments, events and other attractions in both municipalities. Except the very presentation for the two monuments it will be created also and implement in the site a detail information about it – how it has been found, what is the history behind it and others. The information will be presented in 3 languages – Bulgarian, Macedonian and English. Besides the achievement of direct results, the envisaged measures will lead to promoting and pinpointing the rich cultural and natural resources of the region and will raise the awareness of final beneficiaries and stakeholders about the potential for development of alternative forms of tourism. This project will bring the significant impact on planning of investment in common cultural heritage, as it will provide the tools and knowledge on how to attract more EU funds for preservation and utilisation of common cultural and historical heritage.
