Protection of the local population from the municipalities Petrich and Strumica from natural and man-caused disasters

Within this project was envisaged supply of specialized equipment–module system for reaction at crisis situations with Module “Flood” and Module “Forest Fires” for both project partners. This equipment was ensure adaptation and mitigation of climate change consequences and protection of local population of Municipality of Petrich and Municipality of Strumica from flood and fire. The envisaged equipment was ensure adequate means for fighting against disasters for the volunteer formations of both municipalities – 21 from Petrich and 10 from Strumica. Both volunteer formations was trained within the project how to use the new equipment and participate at exchange of experience and best practices in the field of risk prevention and protection of local population at crisis situations in order to raise their capacity in the relevant field. Through development of educational game book in project activities and its presentation among students in schools, was raised the awareness of young people on climate change and its consequences and moreover their capacity on reaction at crisis situations.
Through implementation of this project both municipal administrations of Petrich and Strumica was raise their capacity in management and implementation of EU funded projects, prevention and mitigation of consequences of natural and man-caused disasters, ensuring safe life for their population in the both municipalities.
